Why should I care?

Domestic energy use accounts for approx 27% of the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions. The Government has introduced a number of energy saving initiatives, including EPC’s, aimed at making all buildings more energy efficient. These measures are being applied across all the European Union countries.

The EPBD (Energy Performance of Building Directive) is the new European Legislation and promotes improved energy efficiency in new and existing buildings. It stipulates that, from October 1st 2008, all commercial properties require an EPC by law, when sold or let.

What is an Energy Performance Certificate?

EPC’s look similar to the energy labels found on domestic appliances like fridges and washing machines. The energy efficiency and environmental impact on your property will be rated on a scale from A to G (where A is the most efficient and G the least efficient). Current running costs for heating, hot water, and lighting will also be shown on the certificate, together with a list of recommended energy saving improvements.

How do I get an Energy Performance Certificate?

TARGET PROPERTY PERFORMANCE is able to offer you this through our accredited and affiliated Energy Assessor, Tom Le Gallez. He is able to provide you with an EPC for all types of both Residential and Commercial property.

Once you have commissioned an EPC from us, he will visit your property to assess its age, construction and location, as well as its current fittings such as heating systems, insulation and double glazing.
